Yes — we are! We live in Nova Scotia and proudly call it home. Mewomee was created here, inspired by the Atlantic weather, community and lifestyle.

Our pieces come from trusted Polish brands that design and sew their products in small European workshops, many of them women-owned. We choose partners who work ethically, pay fair wages and use high-quality European fabrics.

We personally know the people behind the brands we work with — this is not mass production, it’s real craftsmanship.

Absolutely — we test everything ourselves before bringing it to Mewomee.

Ewa wore her softshell coat for six years before deciding to bring this brand to Canada.
And when we first discovered merino vests, she wore hers every single day all winter — that’s how we knew it had to be part of our collection.

We only sell what we would wear ourselves.

Yes. Our softshell rain jackets are made without any animal-derived materials. The main fabric is 100% polyester, the inside of the hood is made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane, and the zipper is metal. The jacket does not include snaps, leather, wool, down, or any other animal-based components.

Yes — and not just a little. Our softshell coats have technical waterproofing and windproofing that often outperform many major outdoor brands. They keep you dry, block the wind, and still feel soft and comfortable.

Yes. Our outerwear is designed to be waterproof, windproof and breathable at the same time — so you stay dry without feeling sweaty or stiff. Perfect for Nova Scotia weather.

Merino wool comes from a special breed of sheep and is very different from regular wool. It is soft, breathable, temperature-regulating and does not itch. It keeps you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm — which makes it perfect for layering, everyday wear and active lifestyles.

Yes — normally in the washing machine. We recommend washing them gently and not too often, so the technical layers and colors stay beautiful for years.

We don’t sew them ourselves — we carefully curate and work with European brands that specialize in technical outerwear and merino garments. They have the machines, skills and experience to do it right.
